C\/Terraza (Barriada Mar y Sierra).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>LA VENUS DE ESTEPONA<\/strong><strong> (Pepa Delgado Navarro &#8211; B2.2A )<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLa Venus de Estepona\u201d was inaugurated in 2012, becoming the first mural of the well-known \u2018Murals Route\u2019 in Estepona. It measures 120 square metres, and it was painted on the facade of one of the buildings of the Barriada Mar y Sierra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This mural was totally financed by La Caixa Foundation, and it is a work by Ana Cecilia Salinas, who has a large international career. Later on, she also painted other wonderful murals around the town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLa Venus de Estepona\u201d represents different images of the city. Among these images, the famous statue \u201cLa Venus\u201d stands out. According to the artist, in this work she wanted to symbolize the rise of the town, and she also admits having been inspired by the famous statuette \u2018La Venus\u2019 for this work. This prehistoric statuette, which dates back to 5000 years ago, was found in August 2011 and it has become the official symbol of the town.
