LA HUERTA DE IRENE de Encarnación de Hoyos. Avda. Andalucía.

La huerta de Irene (Conchi Cabeza García- 3º Semipresencial)

This painting “Irene’s orchard” by Encarna de Hoyas, illustrates a typical scene in the countryside where a family is picking lemons. In the foreground you can see a rooster and a chicken and just behind these, there is a woman sitting on a box and her little daughter next to her. In the background, you can see a child and his father picking lemons near a dirt road. They are enjoying a bright sunlight and beautiful day. On the left-hand side there is a place where you can read the painting and author’s name. In the distance you can just see a high hill and a light sky.

IRENE’S VEGETABLE GARDEN (MARIA ORNELLA GÁLVEZ MENACHO, MIRNA CURTIDO MARTÍINEZ, NOEMI PRUNET LÓPEZ , XIMENA BECERRA, JUAN ANTONIO PÉREZ MUÑOZ, YEISON ESTIBEN URRUTIA – 1ºC)

It was inaugurated in April 2015. It measures more than 40 m2 and it is the artist’s tribute to the agricultural history of Estepona. The mural is located on Av. Andalucía, next to the kindergarten  «Los Pitufos». This painting is fantastic because you can see how you enjoy simple things, family, that even those values have not been lost. This is one of the most colourful paintings in Estepona. It is located in the north side of the city and it shows a family picking lemons from the trees. The family seems to be enjoying the day at the countryside. It is a fantastic and lovely work from the local artist Encarna de Hoyos. This mural is based on the real life of the characters and animals that appear in the painting. It is a very attractive painting that captivates with its colours and a beautiful illustration of family union and life in the countryside. This painting is ideal in the place where it is. Because this site was a lemon farm in the old time in Estepona, it’s the only representative painting that exists in Estepona.

IRENE’S VEGETABLE GARDEN (NOELIA LÓPEZ ÁLVAREZ- 2ºC)

The sun, the animals, nature, the blue sky, the trees, the Earth, love, the family…. they are some of the most important and beautiful things for me. When I was a child, I spent my best moments in the country with my family. I was surrounded by nature and animals; I didn’t need a mobile phone or a tablet to be happy. I can remember those days and smile again. In this mural, the artist shows us the importance of the links between Earth, nature, animals and people. Today, we are very worried about our work, money, having a better car or a bigger house, but nobody remembers to take care of our planet. In my opinion, the painter wants to show us the importance of agriculture in this region and the lifestyle of its population. Also, we can see a connection between the present and the past. Lastly, I think we can’t forget where we come from, so when I look at this painting I feel that there is hope, and I know that the sun will always shine because life never stops.
